Why?

Will someone please tell me why a band would even think to remake the song "Life is a Highway"? It was terrible when it first came out in the early 90's. It's the most downloaded country song on itunes. WHY? And why does someone like it so much that they gave it to my spinning instructor for her new "class cd"? Now I have to hear it when I'm in exercise class. As if 45 minutes of cycling weren't torture enough.

Please, America. Get some damn taste in music already. Thank you.

OOh, you're going to hate me for this but I'm a big fan of that song in both incarnations.

I remember buying the cassette single of the Tom Cochrane version and it's always been one of my favorite tunes.

A few months ago I downloaded the country version and it's happily on my iPod.

But, you didn't tell me WHY. It's not even grammatically correct! You ride ON a highway. In a car. You do not ride a highway.

hahaha, that was totally my favorite song when it came out. I taped it off the radio and listened to it all the time. As for the why: I was ten.

Oh wait, the why was for why someone would remake it. I don't know--are they ten? Is it Kid's Bop remakes the not-so-classics?
