I was accidentally sucked (ha ha) into reading the first installment of the Stephanie Meyer vampire series, Twilight, after reading about how great these books were in Entertainment Weekly. I stopped at Borders and asked some of the workers if they had read it. They assured me the books were wonderful.
Perhaps I should have followed my intuition and stayed away from them. They are terrible. It's as if this woman watched a bunch of Buffy episodes and asked herself, "How can I make the Buffy/Angel relationship completely boring and devoid of feeling as well as interesting dialogue?"
What a waste of ten dollars. I really hope this is the last time I get drawn in by a pretty cover.

Oh, but DO read "Sunshine" by Robin McKinley. Have I recommended it to you before? I don't think I have, and that's a serious oversight on my part. I love it. It's kind of like Buffy with baking. (I put a review of it on Shelfari, which you can get to through my Facebook.)
